My sweet baby girl turned two on January 28th, and I found myself overcome with all sorts of emotions. I remember her birthday like it was yesterday, and every single second of that day is as fresh on my mind as if I'm living it all over again. It was the most perfect day, for it is the day that God gave me the most precious gift I had ever received. Each day with my Kate gets sweeter and sweeter, and watching her grow and learn might possibly be the most incredible feeling! The joy I feel when I see her smile is like no other, and I knew I wanted to do something very special for my little angel for her 2nd birthday.
I always wondered what would pique Kate's interest as she got older, and I'm so happy that she has fallen in love with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. She gets sooooo excited when she sees Minnie, and I immediately knew that I wanted her favorite Disney character to set the tone for this year's theme.
I had so much fun planning my girl's Minnie party, and I'm so happy that she loves such a classic Disney character. From the start of the party planning process, I had my mind mostly made up about the look I was going for and I knew I wanted to stick with the red, black, yellow, and white color scheme.
Her party weekend was so wonderful, and it couldn't have started in a more perfect way…My parents came into town the night before, and in keeping with tradition, we made Kate's birthday cake together…Just as we had done the year before, and just as my parents did for all of my and my sister's birthdays. Here's a picture of her special cake…Made with love by Mommy, Yia Yia, and Papou:

I have used piñatas on the front door for past parties, so I ordered a special one to greet guests as they arrived. You can find this piñata here:

That Minnie mouse birthday banner is outstanding. This party looks stunning. I can clearly imagine how enjoyable this party would have been! I will be celebrating my daughter’s 4th birthday at some local kid’s party venues in Chicago. Please share some theme ideas for this party!
